Resume Riff is built to keep your career data on your device, and processes resume/job content and account/billing data required to provide analysis, generation, authentication, and credit features.
- Data We Collect and Process
- We process the following categories of data to provide Resume Riff features:
- Google account email address (from Chrome Identity / Google OAuth) for sign-in and account linking.
- Resume text you load (for example, from Google Docs export).
- Job listing/page text you scrape from the active tab.
- Prompts and generated output used to provide analysis, remix, and cover-letter features.
- Credit and billing-related records (for example, credit balance, purchase fulfillment metadata).
- Technical/operational data required for service reliability and fraud/security prevention (for example, request metadata and error diagnostics).
- We process the following categories of data to provide Resume Riff features:
- How We Use Data
- We use data to:
- Authenticate users.
- Run AI-powered resume/job analysis and content generation.
- Track and deduct/add credits for usage and purchases.
- Process payments and fulfillment.
- Maintain service security, prevent abuse, and troubleshoot issues.
- We do not sell personal data.
- Where Data Is Stored
- Local extension storage (on your device): cached resume text, scraped job text, and generated outputs used for in-extension display/workflow.
- Cloud services: certain data is transmitted to backend services to provide functionality (for example authentication, credit operations, AI request handling, and payment fulfillment).
- Billing/account records: email and credit ledger data are stored in backend databases used to operate the service.
- Data Sharing and Third Parties
- We share data only with service providers needed to operate Resume Riff:
- Google Identity / OAuth APIs (sign-in and account identity).
- Google Firebase / Google Cloud (authentication, callable functions, and database operations).
- Google Gemini API (processing prompts and returning AI output).
- Stripe (payment processing and purchase fulfillment).
- We may also disclose data if required by law, regulation, legal process, or to protect rights/safety.
- We share data only with service providers needed to operate Resume Riff:
- Retention
- Account and credit ledger records are retained while your account is active and as needed for operational/accounting/legal obligations.
- Locally cached extension data remains on your device until you clear extension/browser data or uninstall the extension.
- Service logs/diagnostics are retained only as long as reasonably necessary for security and reliability operations, typically 30 days.
- Your Choices and Rights
- You can:
- Revoke extension permissions in Chrome at any time.
- Revoke Google account access in your Google Account permissions.
- Request deletion of your Resume Riff account/credit record by contacting us (see Contact section).
- When deletion is requested, we will delete or de-identify applicable account records unless we must retain certain data for legal/security/accounting reasons.

- We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect data in transit and at rest. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
- Children’s Privacy
- Resume Riff is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13.
- Changes to This Policy
- We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the revised version with a new “Last updated” date on this page.

Resume Riff’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
